ElectraSpec is a family-owned, bilingual (French and English) manufacturer’s agency located just north of Montreal, Quebec. Our territory of representation includes the province of Quebec, Eastern Ontario, and occasionally the Maritime provinces.

Founded by the late Kenneth Russell-Murray in 1995 and incorporated in 2000, ElectraSpec has built a reputation for representing high-quality manufacturers within the electrical industry. Our partners provide innovative tools for electricians, solutions for power distribution, equipment control and manipulation, custom transformer designs, conduit protection for wires and cables, and surge protection solutions.

Our role extends beyond representing our manufacturers to distributors. We also work directly with end users, consultants, and engineers, ensuring seamless communication and technical support. By participating in manufacturer trainings, regional, national, and U.S. trade shows, we ensure our partners' visibility and stay informed about industry trends and competition. As a manufacturer’s representative, our goal is to increase sales, develop markets, and adapt creatively and professionally to the ever-evolving marketplace.

In 2022, Kristopher and Katelyn Russell-Murray officially took over the agency. As they became familiar with their territory, it became evident how deeply respected their father was within the electrical industry at every level. His legacy was more than just impressive sales—it was about the meaningful relationships he built along the way.

The Team

  • Co-President

    Kristopher and his sister Kate assumed leadership of the business in 2022 following their father's sudden passing. With a degree in environmental science and nearly seven years as a project manager specializing in high-rise, master-planned communities, Kris brings a wealth of experience to the company. He provides exceptional, personalized service and is often recognized for his unifying leadership style and innovative problem-solving abilities. Beyond his professional commitments, Kris is actively involved in community service with Habitat for Humanity.  In his personal time, he enjoys engaging in sports year-round and exploring new destinations through travel.

    Katelyn's connection to ElectraSpec began during her university years, when she frequently participated in tradeshows to support her father. In 2019, she graduated from the John Molson School of Business in Montreal with a bachelor’s degree in Business and a major in Marketing. Shortly after, she joined ElectraSpec as the Regional Sales and Marketing Director, continuing her commitment to the family business.

    In 2020, Katelyn embraced a new challenge as a Marketing Coordinator for a Montreal real estate developer. However, after the sudden passing of her father in August 2022, she and her brother Kristopher chose to honor his legacy by taking the helm at ElectraSpec.

    An athlete at heart, Katelyn thrives on activities like swimming and soccer in the summer, as well as hiking and skiing in the winter. Her dream is to one day live by the beach, enjoying warm weather year-round.

  • Administrative Assistant

    Kathryn has been a cornerstone of ElectraSpec since joining the team in 2000. She is dedicated to supporting every member of the organization, enabling them to focus on market development and sales. With a strong belief in exceptional customer service, Kathryn draws on her extensive experience in the airline industry to ensure every interaction is seamless and professional.

    Kathryn holds a BA in Psychology from Carleton University in Ottawa and is a Certified Canadian Yoga Alliance Instructor, having practiced yoga for over 20 years. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking in nature and playing the piano, combining her love of movement and creativity.

    Mélanie is driven by a genuine passion for sales and the joy of building authentic relationships with clients. With a natural talent for understanding the needs of others, she transforms every interaction into an opportunity to foster lasting trust. Her professional yet compassionate approach allows her to deliver solutions that not only meet but often exceed client expectations.

    Recognizing that sales are, above all, about people, Mélanie excels in active listening, negotiation, and finding added value for every client. Motivated by a desire to go above and beyond, she is known for her energy, empathy, and unwavering commitment to providing a sincere and human experience, all while achieving remarkable results.
